Grinding & Leveling

Self Leveling creates a smooth and flat surface that is achieved in a matter of hours. The compound is extremely fast drying it is also more resistant to mould growth in wet conditions than regular concrete, and its high strength makes it the ideal underlay for our interlocking floor tiles. Uneven surfaces may cause the tiles to lip when interlocked.

If the base concrete floor is uneven with large areas of high spots / low spots (variations in elevations), then in most cases bringing the floor up to the high spot level, using a self-levelling compound is required.

Small patches of high spots often only require grinding down to the main floor level if most of the floor is already level.

If the base concrete is level but has large wide cracks, the use of traditional concrete spot-fix patching compounds may also be an option…

The base concrete needs to be clean, free from dust, grease/oil, paint covering or anything else that will inhibit the binding of the self-levelling compound to the original concrete base. This service is also available.
